Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic yoga is a gentle incorporation of physical postures, breathwork and visualization to specifically accomodate and address issues of:

  • tight or imbalanced muscles and joints,
  • decreased strength
  • abnormal muscle tone,
  • poor balance and/or coordination,
  • impaired mobility
  • pain, and
  • impaired focus and concentration

Private Therapeutic yoga sessions are individually tailored to your specific needs and are meant to be gentle and restorative. Props, such as blankets, chairs, blocks, or bolsters, may be used to make the poses accessible and attainable. It is recommended that you consult with your primary doctor before beginning a therapeutic yoga program.

Restorative yoga group classes offer the student the opportunity to gently restore balance to their physical bodies, change their relationship with pain or discomfort, and safely accomodate any pre-existing medical conditions.

Private and group sessions take place at The Yoga and Polarity Center, 22 Church Street, Malverne, NY. Please contact Diana at diana@dancingsunyoga.com for more information.
