Yoga for Kids

Children benefit from yoga, too! Yoga can help children to improve strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, focus, and attention. Many sports strengthen the body unevenly, resulting in an imbalance of muscle and joint freedom.
Yoga is an effective addition to any sports program because it reinforces athleticism without aggression, and works evenly on the entire body. Kids learn to appreciate each person's unique strengths in a non-competitive manner and cultivate values such as compassion, trust, and equanimity. Beginning meditation skills are also taught in kids yoga, allowing them to learn how to manage stress and promote relaxation.
Classes are taught at The Yoga and Polarity Center, 22 Church Street, Malverne, New York.

Seeds of Peace: A Yoga and Expressive Arts Camp for Kids
Join us for an exciting week of Yoga, multi-media expressive arts, music appreciation, and community service projects!
5 - 8 year old program: July 7 - 11, 2008 from 1:30 - 3:30pm
8 - 13 year old program: July 14 - 18, 2008 from 1:30 - 3:30pm
Pre-registration required by June 20, 2008. Camp fee is $200. per child with $100. deposit required to secure registration.
